British Sign Language Communication Support Assistant

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and professional British Sign Language Communication Support Assistant (BSL CSA) to join our growing team.

About the Role:
As a BSL CSA with BSL Plus, you’ll support a variety of Deaf and Deafblind clients across different settings on a daily basis. If you enjoy working independently, take pride in being professional, and are ready to grow in your role, we’d love to hear from you!

What you’ll be doing:
Your work will make a real difference by helping Deaf and Deafblind individuals access information on an equal level to hearing and sighted individuals. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Supporting students in schools and colleges to ensure they get equal access to their education

  2. Encouraging independence through communication support.

  3. Adapting to the communication needs/preferences of the Service User.

  4. Promoting Deaf Awareness among staff and peers and offering training where needed – including front-of-house teams.

  5. Enabling Deafblind individuals to safely access their community with confidence.

What You’ll Need:

  • BSL Level 3 or above (or currently studying towards it) - Essential

  • Experience as a CSW (Communication Support Worker) - Preferred

  • Full UK Driving Licence with Business Insurance - Essential

  • Own vehicle that’s MOT'd, regularly serviced, and has breakdown cover - Essential

  • Up-to-date DBS (issued within the last 3 years) – Preferred

  • Based in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding area - Essential

  • A genuine commitment to supporting Deaf individuals and maintaining high standards of professionalism.

  • References will be required.
